Studio Sesh Arts is a contemporary art space focused on cultivating creativity in the heart of Islamorada. Formed in 2017 by Sandra Attales, the Studio and Gallery is dedicated to promoting emerging and mid-career artists with a focus on the South.
Sandra Attales is an artist and the director of Studio Sesh Arts. Her passion for working in support of the arts and design began while interning along side of Atlanta’s Swan Coach House Gallery Curator, Marianne Lambert while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. Attales graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Painting with an additional concentration in Graphic design. She began her career as a freelance designer and illustrator with fortune 500 companies, such as SPANX and Shaw Contract Group. Her interest in both the grandiose and sweets led her to a much needed re-focus in the unimaginable path of Cake design where she apprenticed under Food Network’s “Top Sugar Artists,” Karen Portaleo and Joshua John Russell at Highland Bakery in Atlanta. During her time with Portaleo and Russell, she aided in the construction of life-sized edible sculptures for the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, and several celebrity events. In 2014, Attales returned to painting full-time to fulfill her deepest love for art. Since then, her work has been recognized by regional, national, and international publications such as Thrillist, Studio Visit Magazine, Voyage Atl, Forever Young Magazine and PBS Art Loft. Although these opportunities have affected the way she approaches her personal work, they have also impacted the way she carefully curates the overall aesthetic of Studio Sesh Arts in order to remain unpredictable while creating an unforgettable experience.
