THE 100 SALTY PORTRAIT PROJECT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are the Sports Fishing Capital of the World. We own this title and that’s worth celebrating. So how far back does the industry go? Whose played a major role in the industry? Who were the first salties? What is a salty? Are you a salty? These are some of the thoughts I intend to explore through a series of hand painted portraits. 100 captains and mates from the Islamorada area spanning from Holiday Isle to Robbie’s will be honored in this project. In addition I’ll be exploring major landmarks that have also contributed to the industry. I aim to tell a big story.
